My name is Misha Pochuev, I am a wedding photographer and the author of “The Formula Of Love”.
I would like to share a few things here. I’ve learned that my real value as a wedding photographer isn’t just in the photos I take — it’s in helping anxious brides actually enjoy their wedding day, instead of just surviving it. Grooms too, naturally; -)
I do not believe wedding photography should add pressure to your day. Before the wedding, I am there to help with photography-related planning, timeline questions, and also the emotional side of things.

We decided to invite Misha to work at our wedding after he made us a great love story photoshoot: we barely had to pose, it was very natural, fun and romantic! He captured just the right moments, and I know that since I am a photographer myself.
After the wedding day we were so happy that we chose Misha to be our photographer because it seemed like he was one of the guests and everybody loved him too! He was everywhere and absolutely unintrusive at the same time!

What if I feel awkward or nervous in front of the camera?
That’s completely normal - and it’s exactly what I help with. I also help you get into the right mindset before the day, so you feel more confident and relaxed. I use gentle direction, simple movement prompts, and a calm presence throughout the day so you can be yourself. Many couples tell me they forgot the camera was there.
Do we need to know how to pose?
Not at all. I don’t believe in stiff, over-directed posing. My style is natural and candid — I will guide you gently when it helps and step back when real moments are happening. You just need to show up and be yourselves.
What if it rains on our wedding day?
Don’t worry — rain can actually make for some beautiful and romantic photos! I always plan for all weather conditions and can suggest great indoor or covered outdoor alternatives. Many of my most memorable wedding photos were taken in the rain, and they turned out absolutely stunning. I also carry weather protection for my gear, so we can safely shoot in light rain if you are comfortable with it.
Do you offer engagement or pre-wedding sessions?
Great question! In fact, I highly recommend an engagement session — especially if you feel nervous in front of the camera. The best way to build confidence is practice. A pre-wedding session helps you become more at ease in front of the camera, so by the time the wedding day comes, you will feel more relaxed and natural. Plus, you get beautiful photos for your family album and can use them for Save the Date cards. It is a win-win-win.
How soon will we receive our photos?
Your full edited gallery is delivered within 8 weeks. But if you choose the Full Story Collection, you also get real-time photo preview — selected images are edited and appear in a private online gallery minutes after they are taken during the wedding day. You and your guests can start enjoying and sharing beautiful highlights the very same day, with around 300 photos delivered as the day unfolds.
Do you only work in Sydney?
Not at all! While I am based in Sydney, I travel regularly for weddings across NSW — including the Blue Mountains, Hunter Valley, Central Coast — and further afield for destination weddings. Wherever your wedding is, just ask — I would love to hear about it.
